Laura Blythman is an illustrator, designer and all round amazing creative lady, whose work is colourful, surprising and positively joyful.
Much of Laura’s work involves paper collage, and makes me want to break out the glue-stick and coloured construction paper in a poor attempt to emulate it. My particular favourite pieces are her bright, whimsical mountainscapes. I definitely want to live amongst these mountains. You can’t just imagine the kinds of crazy, bizarre creatures that would be hiding amongst them!
Laura also collaborates with fellow creative Pete Cromer, under the name Enemies Yay (what an excellent name), the product of which is an awesome combination of both artists’ quirky styles, resulting in some truly glorious characters and creations (and blobs with faces. My favourite type of blobs). Definitely worth checking out! They’ve also recently released a range of shoes in collaboration with Rollies, because evidently they are the coolest.
Even when departing from bright colours, her work is swoon-worthy. How great is this moonscape? I love the different textures of the paper, and the slightly 3D effect created by the layers.
Are you a lover of bright colours? Do you also wish to inhabit one of Laura’s works? Do tell!
