Confession: I cannot stick to one craft project at a time. I am constantly switching from weaving, to crochet, to polymer clay, and all the while daydreaming about taking up a new craft. Macrame! Knitting! Dressmaking! Every possible inch of spare space is piled high with balls of yarn and I’m constantly buying supplies for the next project before I’ve finished the last one. It’s like an addiction. Where is my next craft hit going to come from?!
In light of this, I thought I’d show you my current work in progress, as a way of holding myself accountable to finish it in a reasonable amount of time (i.e. without starting three other projects in between). I also adore seeing what other crafters are working on. It’s fascinating to see the journey of something from start to finish!
A crafty friend of mine recently introduced me to the rather lovely granite stitch, and since then I’ve been daydreaming about what I could make using this stitch. Given the weather and my love of winter woolies, I settled on a scarf.
I’m a long-time-crocheter, first-time-scarf-maker, so I’m making up a pattern as I go. All I know is, it’s going to be big, chunky and possibly involve pompoms (who am I kidding? It will definitely involve pompoms).
I’ll post the finished product (hopefully sooner rather than later), and who knows, if it turns out ok, I might even post the pattern. What are you working on at the moment? Something warm and wintery? Are you a craft-multitasker or do you stick to one project?
